I thought it was high time for a fresh look for the dining room table. Something that says "Winter" - you know, something to replace the Christmas.
Oh, wait. I guess you actually needed to decorate for Christmas in order to replace it.
Anyway... here's what I came up with.
The snow was an after thought. I like it.
It's all stuff I had, except for the burlap runner and the garland (both 50% off at Hobby Lobby). I just pulled dishes from the cupboards and mixed and matched until I liked it.
It's not great but brings me a little JOY when I walk by so that counts for something.
Now my dining room smells of a curious blend of citrus, pine and burlap. Lucy has been having a ball exploring all of the deliciously earthy smells and those twig chargers? - she's obsessed with those!
For the record, we no not encourage Lucy to be on the table except for blog posts.
Do you decorate for the new year or do you go from Christmas straight to Valentines Day - or do nothing at all? Once Christmas is packed away does your house seem empty and a bit unloved? I'd love to hear what you do.
