Saturday I banned myself from my sewing room, knowing that once I got up there I would lose all track of time.
My Happy Place does that to me. I swear it possesses some magical powers that inhibits my desire to do anything other than sew.
So Saturday I decided it was time to show the rest of my house some love.
I made a quick trip to Von's for tulips and daffodils, shined up some of my old candy jars and filled them with spring colored candies from Sprout's. Then I arranged them with a few of my Beatrix Potter figurines.
I picked a bouquet of violas from my garden for a tiny pitcher
and filled a bowl with fresh ornamental kale. (Mr Hare looks as if he has a secret, doesn't he)?
Saturday as I was fluffing and puffing I came upon this.
It appears Lucy got a wild hair in the middle of the night - although she's not fessing up - she's blaming the Wild Hare and Mrs. Puddle Duck.
Then this morning I found this.
The lamp that normally lives on the kitchen counter was temporarily sitting on the dining room table. I guess she thought it looked a little strange there and that it needed investigating.
Perhaps it was all those critters coming to life after midnight, who knows? One Facebook friend suggested an earthquake. (Why does everyone always side with the cat)?
Friday Bill asked what I wanted to do for date night. When I told him I wanted to see Cinderella I thought he would never stop laughing, but my Prince knows that my wish is his command. What a darling man and a darling movie.
I always thought I wanted to be a set or costume designer. Fabulous!
While we're on a bit of a house tour, I thought I'd show you some of my Cinderella collectibles.
Aren't these tea pots fun? I've had them forever and just love them. I think we all need some mice helpers and a bit of magic when sewing, don't you?
These adorable Limoges boxes are favorites.
Have courage. Be kind
and don't forget the glitter!
Encourage one another,
