May I bore you with just a few more dresden photos?
I had way too much fun this weekend with these not to share.
In my book there's not much that's better than a lazy Sunday afternoon watching Netflix while stitching. (A friend suggested BBC's Land Girls and I'm liking it so far).
Actually I cut the blade pieces down a bit from the original size I made a few months ago
but you probably can't tell.
Then Sunday morning I cut them even smaller and made just one more.
I love getting into my stash of Japanese prints.
Sure wish I had more.
Here's a photo of the original five inch size blade with the two smaller reduced sizes.
The Thimble Ruler by Lori Holt makes the dresdens go together so easily, with no hand applique what so ever. You can go here for Lori's great tutorial. I used our magic clear thread for the applique and it's nearly invisible.
I have just one more tiny dresden that I want to make then I think I'll be satisfied.
Or maybe not.
Ever since a friend gave me this in April I've wanted to show it to you. What an adorable gift idea.
Perfect for someone who grew up reading Little Golden Books - or read them to her children. (Isn't that just about everyone)?
It's full of great advise from our favorite Golden Book characters
that we all need to be reminded of
from time to time.
Advise I try and follow every chance I get.
Remember to stop and smell the strawberries my friends.
