Early this morning I posted this on my facebook page.
Today I got to deliver the goodies to the Bakersfield SPCA that our Strawberry Patches friends brought to our Birthday Bash on Saturday.
Your amazing donations filled my car - barely leaving enough room for me!
The folks at the Bakersfield SPCA were absolutely overwhelmed with your generosity. They said they have a real shortage of blankets and towels right now and were thrilled to get them. Thanks to you lots of dogs will have warm cozy beds to sleep on instead of cold hard concrete.
Once the volunteers and I unloaded my car I presented them with the checks and cash you all so generously donated. $1,122!!!
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Most quilters love animals, are so giving and generous and love a good sale. It was such a great day!
Then I got to do something I've wanted to do for four months. I got to thank the woman who suggested that I choose the little female tabby on that cold day back in December. When I told her how happy Lucy has made our home she got teary eyed and said she likes to think of herself as a matchmaker. It was a match made in heaven to be sure.
I'm so proud of what we did together and how we made a real difference in the lives of some lovable furry friends who are waiting for their new forever homes. Thank you to everyone who came and shopped and gave so generously.
I can only think of one thing that might be happier than a bird with a french fry...
Encourage one another,
