This was my inspiration for today's tutorial.
French macarons from Laduree.
For me no trip to Paris is complete without a visit (or two) to Laudree for these delectable little gems. That slight crack you feel as you bite through the thin outer shell into the soft flavor filled center and the explosion of flavor as the filling oozes out and dances on your tongue. Oolala. It's a dance party in your mouth for sure.
I thought it would be fun to do a French inspired Bernina Club and make our guests macaron party favors. So I started with 2 1/2 inch rounds of wool felt in some fun flavors.
For those who would like to make some:
Add cardboard round
You will need two rounds for one macaron.
Aren't they adorable? And unlike the real thing - sugar and calorie free, but very high in fiber!
