I've wanted to make an advent calendar for as long as I can remember but to be honest, the thought of sewing twenty five little numbered bags has always stood in my way. I'm basically lazy like that, so this year when I found these
I took the easy way out and opted for a bottle of Elmer in exchange for my Bernina.
I pretty much just used what I had - various left over mismatched chipboard numbers and some stickers. The frame is a picture frame from Michael's.
I stapled chicken wire to the back and added baker's twine with mini clothes pins to hold the tiny bags.
I'm happy with the way it turned out but the best part is now I can say I've finally made an advent calendar.
I put little treats in each bag for my sweet husband. He has a bit of a sweet tooth so I thought I would surprise him with a little treat on his pillow each night for the first twenty five days of December. Awww. (I know).
Like my mom always said, Sweets for my sweet.
You're never too old to make a little Christmas magic don'tchathink?
