No way was I going to let a busy schedule stop me from working on the project I've been so looking forward to. So Saturday afternoon as we headed to our weekend home in Ventura I pulled out my Slice Fabrique and sliced all the way down I-5. Talk about time management! Not usually my strong suit but I was determined to get the most out of my one day off.
Sunday morning I played with the flower placement of my little quilt then spent the afternoon mindlessly buttonhole stitching everything down while The Real Housewives played in the background.
Talk about my perfect day!
Here's what I started with.
It's a panel by LakeHouse called Annie's Farm Stand. The accompanying pattern has you hand cut lots of cute little flowers but I thought, hey why not just Slice them?
So I used the four inch flowers that come with the machine and cut a nice variety using fabric from the Annie's Farm Stand collection.
Once everything was ironed down I just stitched the flowers and leaves down with a buttonhole stitch and matching thread.
I love the way it's turning out.
I plan on adding buttons and embellishments once it's quilted and I'm thinking you'll have to look twice to notice that the baskets are printed, not pieced.
For those of you who would like to make this quilt in the more conventional method you can go here for the kit. If you'd like to Slice it, go here.
Just sharing the fun...
Hope your weekend was fabulous!
