Sunday morning I stopped by the store to pay some bills before heading up to Jeff's. There, on my desk, was this
with a note that read:
Dear Suzanne,
This quilt was made with love for you by your friends and employees. This idea started after Quilt Market this spring. Susan saw the blog post of the Moda ALS Quilt for a Cause and said, "we need to make this for Suzanne, and while we're at it, let's make two and raffle the second one off as a fundraiser."
With Susan's organization, Amanda's knowledge of who to contact, Norbert's (my Moda sales rep) determination, and Moda's generosity, we were able to gather everyone together to make these quilts. We will be raffling off the second quilt and donating the proceeds to Jake's fund raising efforts.
It's been a busy, emotional summer working on these quilts for you and your family. These special ladies all have wanted so badly to be able to do something to help ease your burden and worry. None of us have been sure of how we could possibly help, but this way we were at least able to do a little something to show we care.
We've had the quilts finished for a few weeks and wanted everyone to be a part of presenting them to you, but between family visits and vacations we could not find the perfect time (we had planned on giving them to you on September 1st).
May this quilt comfort you in this most difficult time, knowing so many people are praying for you and thinking of you and all your loved ones.
Love, Annette, Amanda and Susan

I'm so thankful for the love and support of so many wonderful people in my life. I'm also thankful that I was in the store alone when I read the note because I totally lost it. My heart overflowed with love for these dear friends and tears welled up in my eyes and spilled into my lap as I sat there at my desk reading that note. I had absolutely no idea these precious people were secretly scheming and sewing behind my back! I have to be the luckiest, most blessed person alive!
For Norbert to get Moda involved by donating the fabric, I'm just completely overwhelmed. I've always loved Moda, but this shows their level of commitment to making a difference and helping to find a cure for ALS and other causes they support through their Quilts for a Cause campaigns. Thank you too to Lynn Douglass who donated her time and incredible talent and quilted the two quilts.
If you would like to donate to ALS and perhaps win this incredible quilt you can purchase raffle tickets at the store or here.
Encourage one another,
