Recently some of the blogs that I read have been full of projects using antique French grain sacks so when a customer came into the store carrying a wonderful tote that she made from a burlap coffee sack it caught my eye. We chatted about it a bit and we all complemented her on it. I tucked the idea into my overloaded mind, thinking that they would be fun to make sometime.
While shopping in Avignon I found this...
I love the leather handles and the size is great for carrying all the yardage and goodies that won't fit into my suitcase for our flight home.
Next month I'll be shopping for the leather handles at quilt market and I've already arranged to purchase burlap potato sacks from a farmer friend that is on the trip with us. My dream would be to find some antique grain sacks here in the french countryside, but I'm thinking Kern County potato sacks will have to do.
Encourage one another,
