Jump'n for joy

That's me - the second one from the left with a couple of my quilting friends that spent the weekend quilting and enjoying the last days of summer.

Huh? What's that? You don't think my hair is really that long?

Okay. Fine. (kill joy)

Truth is I'm jumping for joy because I'm loving my photography class at Henley's. Love the challenge and assignments and my growing list of expensive camera gadgets and accessories. 

This week one of our assignments is working with flash. Outside. In daylight. What the...I always thought flash was a big "No no".

We'll see.

Happee Birth Day tooo yoouuu....

This man:

Loves old westerns, 50's music, Hawaiian shirts and hot sauce.

Gives great foot massages.

Always opens the car door (or any door for that matter) for a lady.

Brings me flowers for no reason.

Has a rather warped sense of humor.

Packs my lunch.

Washes my car and keeps it full of gas.

Rarely can beat me at Scrabble. = )

Is a thoughtful friend and a great boss. 

Is proud of his family.

Is disciplined and exercises daily.

Stands up for what he believes in.

Still loves and supports me even though I'm not in any way, shape or form  like the twenty year old he married all those years ago.

Is one year older today and like the fine wine he collects just gets better with age.

Happy birthday Bill. I love you!

Disconnected

Wednesday I had a physical.

My first one in ten years.

I can now proudly say, I have a family doctor!

(Something I have never, in my adult life, been able to say).

It feels good.

I however, haven't been feeling so good.

I got a Shingles shot and it seems I am the one in seventy that gets a reaction.

I always thought when people would say they got the flu from a flu shot they were full of it.

(I don't now).

On top of not feeling well, our DSL has been on the fritz.

Talk about feeling disconnected!

All is well on both fronts now so let the weekend begin.

Autumn Houses

In honor of the first day of autumn I wanted to show you what can happen when talented women converge.

Our gifted Annette puts  most of our kits and blocks of the month together. She has such a knack for choosing just the perfect fabrics and our customers love the ease and convenience they provide.

This quilt is Autumn Houses by Bunny Hill Designs. Customer Pam Gavin finished it in record time. Isn't it adorable? All hand appliqued and embroidered, it is the perfect wall quilt for Pam's office.

The quilting was expertly done by Lynn Douglass who added fun touches to the salt box houses and woodland creatures.

Pam's office decor is ready for fall. Now if the weather would cooperate!
